Danielle Shazell.
I was born in England in 1975 and moved to the Middle East at the age of 3 then to South East Asia.
I had a happy childhood with great exposure to different environments, culture and people.
I love to travel, meet interesting people, and hope to experience as much as the world has to offer.
I have been actively creative ever since I can remember, involved in visual and performing arts.
I completed my Foundation Course in Art and Design at Brighton College of Technology in 1999.
I have had private exhibitions in Singapore and the United States and I am currently painting inspirations of the Buddha image.
My main focus has been the Buddha image for the past 8 years, a subject which never tires me and is a constant source of inspiration and intrigue.

I dedicated a lot of time to this work and it was a long time in the making. Based upon the Stone Carving of an Apsara as seen at the Bayon Temple in Cambodia.
An Apsara is a celestial Angel and you can
see over 2,000 Apsaras or celestial dancers in the galleries of Angkor Wat. The origin of these images is the Hindu religion, and came
to represent the beauty and grace of the Khmer court dancers. The Apsara character is one of the most beautiful and identifiable characters in Cambodian Dance and History, the graceful movements and mudras (hand gestures)of the Khmer classical dance are intricate and symbolic to the culture and history.
Due to the large size and monchrome pallette of this artwork it is difficult to photograph well. Please contact me for more detailed pictures of this painting.
The painting will be professionally packaged and shipped to you rolled up in protective tubing.
