Artist Bio
Artist: Adelle Jean

A member since: 2004

Adelle Jean began painting whimsical and endearing scenes of traditional and modern Jewish life after health problems (Severe arthritis and a bad fall) kept her from working outside the home any longer. At 39 years old, and just an emerging artist, she is surprised and thrilled with how well people do respond to her work. Some of the comments she hears over and over are "These are paintings that make you feel good to look at," and "You won't get tired of these on the wall." Adelle is basically a very frindly, cheerful and people loving person and loves to share her artwork HOPING it will bring joy to others and smiles to their faces. If she earns a little or even a living doing that, all the better. But mostly, she paints for the joy of it and the love of her subject. Some of her recent customers include Western Washington University's Hillel Center and a commission by Beth Israel Synagogue's Sisterhood to create images to reproduce on fine linen and make Passover Matzo Covers, to be sold in their giftshop.
